Houston Vegetarian Eats #1: Green Seed Vegan
At this point in my life being vegetarian comes easy for me. It definitely was a journey but I am in a good place right now. I have wondered if I would ever want to progress and elevate to the highest form of plant based diet which is to become a RAW VEGAN.

Moving on! The menu is right in front of you when you come in, just look up. They have some tasty deserts right there in the front and juices in the fridge. The prices are really incredibly reasonable for the quality of food. This is a vegan restaurant that will not break your wallet which is very comforting.
Honestly, the answer is heck no! sorry raw vegans. But although I am not turning raw vegan anytime soon, I was fascinated to what they actually eat. I guess it is the same fascination some of my meat eating friends have expressed to me as a vegetarian. "Do you eat salads all day?" Funny enough I have this same ignorant perception of raw vegans that all they do is eat cold salads and snack on fruits.
Furthermore, after seeing an Instagram post of a famous raw vegan who happens to be a fellow Houstonian FullyRaw Kristina. She had some delicious recipes on her page and also seeing other random vegan videos on youtube, I became very much interested in exploring more because the meals looked delicious. Also, the raw vegans themselves looked great and happy so their diet must be great.
My new found curiosity led me to want to explore more of the raw vegan diet and so I went to trusty Google to look for raw vegan restaurants in Houston. A couple came up but after looking at a few I decided to give my raw vegan restaurant virginity to Green Seed Vegan.
Green Seed Vegan is not a strictly a raw vegan restaurant but they do have a raw vegan menu which is great. They are 100% vegan, soy free, with gluten free options. It is located close to the medical center which is not to far from Hermann park so vegan lunch picnic date (heyyy!!!), you're welcome Houstonians.

Walked in and was greeted by the lovely cashier. Who was kind to me about taking her photo for my blog. Sorry in advance for the quality of the photos I forgot to bring a proper camera.

Lovely Cashier: oh cool you are a blogger
Me: (feeling special) Yes :)
Inside Me: yeah! an unknown non-special crappy one. My post about this day might end up being a waste of internet space. Shush Mary!!!! Don't say that out loud

In addition to my food order, I also got a Cold-Pressed Raw Juice. I got the Pina Verde which was made from Pineapple, Mint, Wheatgrass, & Apple and I also got a Root Brownie.

So my lovely opinions on my side acts before introducing the main act.
Juice:
The Juice was delicious. It might look green and mean but it was far from that, you can taste everything except the wheatgrass really.
Root Brownie:
As a level 200 brownie lover when I see brownie, I WANT ! But this brownie yes it is a Root Brownie but I was still expecting some kind of chocolate goodness maybe because of its colour but for me it didn't hit my brownie notes that I am used to drolling over. It did taste like a healthy brownie, you could taste the health. But for me if I were a vegan and of course renouncing all milk and eggs this brownie wouldn't be a bad desert. I still ate it all because it wasn't bad but its not droll worthy.
This Is What We Came For:
Now for the Entre what did I order . So I did go to the restaurant with my best friend and I will also post his order as well. So this is what I ordered:

Rockin Tacos
raw coco cilantro tortillas with sunflower walnut chorizo, arugula, avocado, pico, cashew creme, & cilantro lemon
My BFF's Order:

Big Tex & Sweet Potato Dill Fries
buckwheat quinoa patty, zucchini bacon, avocado, cheese, jalapeno, red onions, tomato & mayo on a whole wheat bun. (fyi fries doesn't come with the burger)
Opinions and Feelings:

I came in with such excitement, my body was ready to eat my first raw meal. Unlike other first times, I wasn't disappointed. My raw vegan meal which was the rockin tacos, exceeded my expectations, it was absolutely delicious. I was left wondering how did they make this. I know it looks like a bunch of grass but believe me it doesn't taste like a goats dinner. It seemed so simple and yet delicious. I was left with wanting to try everything on the raw menu. I felt confident that everything would be delicious. Too bad the wallet was like thank you come again.
I would have to say if you are going here with the desire to impress someone don't order this taco, its very messy to eat. That is not a negative, I am just giving a warning. My brother has told me that I eat like I have a hole in my mouth, so if you are ungraceful like me then beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So he is a omnivore like most humans and he is seems to be skepetical about vegetarian versions of things but he actually liked the burger and ate the whole thing. I did take a bite of it and most of his sweet potato fries. The burger tasted like a great veggie burger, it is not trying to fool you, it had a great flavour that made it feel like you aren't eating just a run of the mill veggie burger.

I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries, I mean it is sweet potato fries, one of my guilty pleasures that I went and ordered my own. The fries do appear to be fried unless they did some kind of magic but I would personally would have loved it if the fries were oven baked. I guess to appease my guilt conscious.

A Bit of Scenery

Now For Important Buisness:
THE TOILET!
For me the toilet at restaurant is a not necessary but important. When the location is nice, the food is great, and when the restroom is clean and nice that for me elevates a restaurant. So lets check out the restroom.

THE TOILET!

Hmm the door looked Very Promising

When you open the door you are greeted with this large mirror which is great oppourtunity for us picture lovers and also if you are out with someone a great mirror to pep talk yourself that everything will be great. Luckily the restaurant wasn't busy so no one caught me in my act of vanity
After my anxiety filled photo shoot (I was scared someone will open the door behind me), time to actually enter the loo.

The toilet was tiny and tidy. The building is a old building and I think the age added to a rustic aged look of the restroom. It looked old but it was clean and didn't have that old moldy smell. I think they did a good job in making the best of the building. My only opinion is for them to add a a painting or two perhaps something with their logo also in the restroom because I am annoying. The toilet did have two mirrors which is great to double check if you have lettuce in your teeth. Also being the nosey person I am , I did look under the sink cabinet, I don't remember the content that was inside but I did see a spray bottle of Lysol and I fell in love. So now you have the oppourtunity to sit down like a normal person instead of performing the crouching tiger closed fist routine.
Other Mentions:

They do have a little patio seating outside, so you can enjoy your meal al fresco. But beware there is a traffic stop right next to the restaurant so as you are eating outside don't do anything weird or you will be stared at .

Round Up:
Will I ever go to this restaurant again?
YESSSSSSSS. I am looking forward to my next visit. I would love to try everything on their menu.
Would you recommend this restaurant?
Yes, duh
Out of 5 stars how would you rate this restaurant?
I hate rating things its so one dimensional but if I had to do it I would give it a 5 out of 5.
- The End -
Outtakes

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
